01

What do I send to get a quote?

A builder’s plan, a kitchen designer’s drawing, or a sketch with rough sizes and a few photos of the room. Mark any edge that needs finishing and tell us the stone you have in mind. Photos of the room help with joins and sink cutouts.

02

How quickly do I hear back?

Within 24 hours you get first guidance: what will and will not work, anything that changes the price, and what we still need before the full quote can be drawn.

03

What does the quote look like?

A private online link, not a PDF. It holds your scope of work, a 3D render of the benchtops in your slab, the workshop drawings, how your pieces nest on each slab, and the saw cutting them. Everything comes from the same drawing our workshop cuts from. There is a live demo on the Interactive quote page.

04

Can I change the layout after the quote?

Yes. The Take control tab lets you drag and rotate your pieces on the slab yourself to chase a vein or move a join. Save it and we cut it that way.

Services

05

What do you make?

Kitchen benchtops and islands, splashbacks, vanities, feature walls, fireplaces, bars and the odd tricky corner, in natural stone, porcelain, sintered and reconstituted stone.

06

Who does the work?

The same hands, start to finish: supply, 3D template and nest, fabricate, install.

07

Where do you install?

All of Melbourne and the outer suburbs, from the one workshop in Bayswater. Regional Victoria by arrangement.

08

How long does it take?

We aim to have a job templated, cut and installed within ten business days of the quote being accepted. Larger or unusual jobs take longer, and we say so when we quote.

09

How do you measure?

Stage four of the process is a digital measure and photomatch of the room, so the pieces are cut to the space as built, not to the plan.

10

What happens after install?

Install and aftercare is the last stage. We work until you are satisfied, and we stay in touch long after the stone is in, so if something needs a look, you call us.

— 04 · Edge profiles

Edge profiles

11

What edge profiles do you offer?

Twelve profiles at 20mm, 40mm, 60mm and custom thicknesses. Square arris is our default. Pick one on the Edge profiles page and see it in 3D on the stones we stock.

12

Can the veining wrap over the edge?

Where the shape allows, we mitre the front so the slab’s veining wraps over the corner. Otherwise the build-up is laminated with a strip of the same stone.

Stone profiles

13

What are stone profiles?

Fluted, reeded and scalloped panels carved into solid stone on our CNC bridge saw, cut from the same slab as your benchtop so the veining runs through. Island fronts, splashbacks, waterfall ends and vanity fronts.

14

Can I design my own profile?

Yes. Start from one of eight presets, then set the pitch, depth, groove shape and stone thickness yourself on the Stone profiles page. If it can be drawn, we can carve it.

— 06 · Stone types and suppliers

Stone types and suppliers

15

What stone do you work with?

Marble, granite, quartzite, travertine and limestone. Porcelain. Sintered stone such as Smartstone, Dekton, Neolith and Lapitec. Zero-silica reconstituted stone. Every slab on the floor is one of those four kinds, and the Suppliers page compares them plainly.

16

Who supplies the stone?

We buy the slab with you, from suppliers we have used for three generations, at trade rates and with a warranty on the stone.

17

Can I see the slab before you cut it?

Yes. We arrange viewings with the suppliers for any stone you choose, and your quote shows your pieces nested on the slab so you can check the vein direction and where the joins fall before anything is cut.
